Call to the NCUSA Indiana Squadron Convention March 10-12, 2017

In accordance with the By-Laws of the Navy Club of the United States of America, the annual Convention will be held in Indianapolis Northeast/Fishers, Indiana from Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 12, 2017. The designated hotel will be Hilton Garden Inn located at 9785 N by Northeast Blvd. in Fishers, IN 46037. The contact phone number is 844-370-0984 or 317-829-1465. The Convention is called for the purpose of the election of Officers for the ensuing year, considering Resolutions and Constitutional Amendments as may be properly presented, and all other business legally brought before the Delegates for consideration.


Any Ship wishing to submit a Resolution must have said Resolution to Squadron Shipswriter by Feb. 15, 2017.


Each individual Ship in good standing is entitled to two (2) delegates and two (2) alternates for the first twenty-five (25) members. For each additional ten (10) members or a major fraction thereof [to wit: six (6) or more will be a major fraction thereof], one (1) additional delegate and alternate is allowed. Past Squadron Commanders shall vote as Delegates at Large unless serving as elected Delegates of their respective ship.


All Financial obligations to the National and Squadron shall be paid prior to February 15, 2017, in order to be included in the annual audit to assure good standing in the National Organization.


The Joint Memorial Service will be held at the Opening Ceremony under the Direction of the Squadron Chaplain, and the Squadron Auxiliary Chaplain with the assistance of Squadron Auxiliary Conductress. Ship participants should wear Navy Club dress uniform.
Shipmate of the year contest is under the direction of the Past Squadron Commanders. Please submit your entry with the shipmate’s name in a separate, sealed envelope to PNC Archie Gainey at address below prior to February 15.


REGISTRATION FEE: The fee of $20.00 has been established by the host ship and said fee must be paid by each attending Delegate and Alternate in advance of the official business sessions. Failure to do so shall be cause for the Credentials Committee not to seat any such Delegate or Alternate. Should any Squadron Staff Member or Committee Chairman be unable to attend, please inform the Shipswriter of your inability to attend and send a report to his address or by e-mail.


PRE-REGISTRATION: Shipswriters: Please make a copy of the enclosed Registration form available to every Delegate, Alternate, and Delegate-at-Large for your Ship. There will be a fee of $35.00 for the evening Dinner, Convention Awards and Installation Ceremony. The total package will be $55.00 if paid by February 20, 2017 and $60.00 if paid after February 20, 2017. Please make check or money order payable to Navy Club Ship # 29. Please send the official Registration form (enclosed) for each attendee and payment to Navy Club of Hamilton County Ship # 29 at PO Box 503 Noblesville, IN 46061-0503. Be advised that pre-registration prevents confusion and delays at the Registration table upon your arrival.
Pre-Convention Staff Meeting will be held on March 10, 2017 at 2000 HR (8:00 p.m.) at the Hilton Garden Inn. Anyone may address the Staff during the meeting; however only elected Staff Officers may make, second, or vote, on motions before the Staff.
